Doug's Priorities -
Short Term Goals
- Oppose the Lauderdale Quay project until all financial, social and environmental risks have been resolved.
- Keep rate increases down to a minimum.
- Build a slip lane from East Derwent Highway to Tasman Highway towards the airport.
- Improve the amenity of the Bellerive Fort and Rosny Hill Lookout.
- Continue improving roads and footpaths.
- Develop practical plans to deal with the threat of global warming.
- Increasing business and employment opportunities in Clarence, including from the Antarctic Air Link.
- Make the Rosny Mall a two-way street .
- Construct a by-pass at Richmond to protect the Bridge and village from heavy traffic.
Long-term Goals
- Extend Flagstaff Gully Road to the East Derwent Highway and provide better access to the Bowen Bridge.
- Build the Rokeby Bypass.
- Build a civic arts and cultural centre for Clarence.
- Lobby for water and sewerage services to be rolled out to un-serviced areas.
I have now served you as a Clarence Alderman for nine years
As your representative, I have successfully fought for:
- Partnership with State
- Improved roads and footpaths
- The Mornington Roundabout (still needs fine tuning)
- Recycling wheelie bins
- Audit Committee (better accountability)
- Positive Ageing Advisory Committee
- Commence sewering Lauderdale
- Link Oceana Drive to the South Arm Highway
- Cultural History Advisory Committee
