Alderman Doug Chipman will continue serving you with commitment and enthusiasm

I attended Cambridge Primary School and then both Hobart and Launceston High Schools before joining the Air Force as a cadet in 1964. On returning home in 2000, after nearly 37 years service in the Air Force, I was honoured to be elected as an Alderman to Clarence City Council.

The Air Force provided me with outstanding leadership and management experience, as well as a chance to see a lot of good ideas in local government at various locations around Australia and overseas.

Together with my wife Jo, I have always felt a strong urge to contribute to the Community. In the past this was in the form of Parents and Friends organisations at my children's schools, coaching in sporting teams and the like. Now my contribution is to the City of Clarence.

With the Chipman family first settling in Clarence in 1808, I also have a keen interest in the natural and historic values of the City.

I am genuine, committed and enthusiastic, and enjoy achieving results by working with people from all walks of life, and at all levels of government.
